The 28-year-old Barbadian singer and songwriter Rihanna has cancelled two of her shows and delayed the start of her coming world tour just days after cancelling her Grammys performance due to health concerns, The Guardian reported.
After being forced to cancel her Grammy Awards performance because of bronchitis, Rihanna postponed the start of her "Anti" world tour until next month. Originally set to kick off on Feb. 26 at San Diego's Viejas Arena, it has now been moved to start on Mar. 12 in Jacksonville, Florida.
Eight tour dates have been postponed from February to May - including San Jose, New Orleans and Atlanta. Production delays were cited by the Los Angeles Times as the reason behind the kickbacks.
The "Work" hit maker will no longer perform at Sunderland's Stadium of Light or Cardiff's Principality Stadium, and has also cancelled two UK tour dates in June. The tours were cancelled due to "logistical reasons beyond the tour's control," according to a statement found at the Sunderland AFC's website.
"Due to logistical reasons beyond the tours control a number of shows on Rihanna's forthcoming Anti World Tour have been cancelled. The concert scheduled for Sunderland's Stadium of Light is one of those affected and the show will no longer go ahead," the statement read.
Sunderland AFC's commercial director. Gary Hutchinson, apologized to the concert-goers who were looking forward to the show and listed more exciting events that the venue is showcasing. Included in the statement was an announcement that customers who wish to obtain a refund for tickets purchased must do so from the point of sale.
Refunds on tickets purchased in-person from Stadium of Light box office will be available from Tuesday while patrons must produce the voucher they were issued at the time of purchase in order to secure their refund.
