Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg Talks About His Vision

Ever since Facebook hit social media, it became a huge thing. Facebook is the most popular social media network, and it connects people in so many ways. And now, Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg talks about his vision for the company and his goal to build a global community.

Zuckerberg posted a lengthy blog post on his Facebook page wherein he shared his vision for the company and for the community. The first thing he pointed out in his blog is whether we are all building the world that we want. It is really a good question that a lot of people can ponder on. In order to achieve this, it is important that humanity will come together not just as one nation but also as a global community.

Facebook’s billionaire CEO said that the social media networking website “stands for bringing us closer together and building a global community.” They were able to see that the world gets connected even more; however, there are still those who are left behind by globalization. And that made them think if they can make a global community that works for everyone.

“In times like these, the most important thing we at Facebook can do is develop the social infrastructure to give people the power to build a global community that works for all of us,” said Zuckerberg.

Zuckerberg and Facebook plan to achieve their goal through building “supportive communities, safe community, informed community, civically-engaged community and inclusive community.” Zuckerberg hopes that everyone will commit to building a long-term social infrastructure that will help bring humanity closer together. Given that, Zuckerberg believes that Facebook can play a great role in building a global community.

However, The Guardian reported that Zuckerberg failed to mention an important thing in his manifesto and that is “Facebook is already a for-profit form of social infrastructure, with immense and unprecedented power over our lives.” And as the company makes the profit, it also creates social harm.

Meanwhile, Jobs & Hire reported that Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan’s biomedical research named the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub announced that they have awarded a $50 million grant to 47 researchers for giving their “riskiest ideas.”
