Three men drove 2,813 miles along the U.S. on a Mercedes in 28 hours and 50 minutes breaking previous record set in 2006 of 31 hours and 4 minutes, Jalopnik.com informed.
From New York to Los Angeles, Ed Bolian and his team drove the U.S. from coast-to-coast with an average speed of 98 miles per hour in a 2004 Mercedes Benz CL55.
"Google says it takes 40 and a half hours to drive from coast to coast," Ed told Jalopnik. "Actually an anonymous driver attempted the same journey but he did 31 hours and 17 minutes a week prior to us."
The trip was named "Cannonball Run" as a crazy man from Indiana called Edwin Baker which nickname was "Cannoball" who drove from NY to LA in 53 hours and 30 minutes in a car called Blue Streak with an average speed of 50 mph in 1933.
