Nike unveiled the newest colorway of the sixth signature shoe of Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant, which is expected to become one of the hottest items on the sneaker market next month.

The Nike KD VI "What The KD?" will be arriving at retailers on June 14 and will be available on a limited basis in select Nike accounts worldwide for $150 per pair.

This edition, which is officially listed as the Purple/Urgent Orange-Shark colorway of the shoe, features a unique graphic design on the multi-colored upper part.

According to Nike, this specialized edition of Durant's sixth signature sneaker sports a combination of 35 graphics and colors of previous KD VI sneakers, such as the Aunt Pearl version, which is said to be one of the best-selling editions of this signature sneaker.

"The new KD VI "What The KD" melds 35 graphics and colors from all the past KD VI colorways. From the Maryland blue crab-inspired Swoosh, to the floral graphic of his late Aunt Pearl's robe, this new shoe captures KD's personal stories all in one," Nike noted in their release statement.

The KD VI "What The KD?" was also made as some sort of a tribute to Durant for having an excellent season this year, arguably his best season since becoming a Nike signature athlete in 2007.

The Oklahoma City Thunder superstar captured his first-ever Most Valuable Player award after averaging a career-high 32.0 points to go along with 7.4 rebounds and 5.5 assists during the regular season, and is currently leading his team in the ongoing Western Conference Finals.

"Kevin Durant's ascension to one of the world's top athletes comes as no surprise to Nike Basketball, who signed Durant in 2007. His relentless work ethic, humility and drive to be the best never waver. His journey inspired the KD VI shoe," Nike noted.

This edition is one of the special sneakers included in Nike Basketball's 'What The" series, which was coined by Nike graphic artist Erick Goto.

"Our team takes prides in bringing athlete stories to life. Over the course of the year, we reach a point where we get to put a capstone on each model, and celebrate the shoes in a wild way," Goto said of the "What The" models.
