Halo is no doubt one of the best gaming franchises as proven by the multitude of positive citations and good ratings the game had before, and more awards and nominations are expected to come as a new edition is set to come out soon.
According to reports, the newest iteration called "Halo 5: Guardians" is already in development and will be released in fall of 2015 for Xbox One, the next-gen console from Microsoft.
Bonnie Ross, 343 Industries general manager, recently announced that Halo 5 will be way better than its predecessor because the developer will exert bigger effort compared to Halo 4, which was already a huge hit before. He said that they will be taking full advantage of the much-improved console.
"Halo 5: Guardians" is a bigger effort than Halo 4. That applies to the content and scope of the game, as well as the technology in what's now a brand new and more powerful engine. Certainly there are some core elements carried over from prior games, but we've invested a huge effort in retooling our tech to take full advantage of the Xbox One's hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worthy of next-gen," Ross announced.
Ross also announced that the next Halo game will not only make noise via the Xbox One, revealing that Halo universe, featuring the main character, Master Chief, will have a television series counterpart.
343 Industries struck a partnership with world-renowned Steven Spielberg to create the television series, which aims to enrich gamers' videogame experience in a different way.
"And 2015 won't simply be the year of "Halo 5: Guardians," it will also be a year that offers us a unique opportunity. The opportunity to invite old friends and new audiences into that universe through the "Halo" television series, launched as a unique collaboration with Steven Spielberg and some of the finest creative minds in the business. A series that will stand alone, as well as complement and enrich the game experience," Ross wrote.
Halo 5: Guardians, which will retail at $75 next year, will still feature Master Chief unique journey, along with a yet-to-be-revealed character who was seen standing opposite the main character in the cover art of the game.
