'Saved by the Bell' may have become a thing of the past, but the hit television series, which ran from 1989 to 1993, is now heading to the small screen as a TV movie, People has learned.
Instead of the usual antics of the show, the TV movie title "The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story" will chronicle the real happenings and the raw events that took place between the cast members off-cam.
"The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story" is airing on Lifetime this 2014, and everyone will surely be thrilled to tune in since the show promises only the real events behind-the-scenes of the popular and classic sitcom.
So do show producers mean when they said the "Saved by the Bell" TV movie will be juicy? According to TIME, the storyline for the Lifetime show will coincide with actor Dustin Diamond's claims in his 2009 book "Behind the Bell" that he and his co-actors have become experimental amid their hit series.
Diamond's book even claimed that the "Saved by the Bell" actors constantly hooked up, enjoyed threesomes every now and then and used illicit drugs.
The original casting director for the hit series "Saved by the Bell," Robin Lippon, was reportedly the one who cast the actors for the Lifetime TV movie.
The cast of "The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story" comprised: Taylor Russell as Lark Voorhies, who plays Lisa Turtle; Dylan Everett as Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who plays Zack Morris' Alyssa Lynch as Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, who plays Kelly Kapowski; Julian Works as Mario Lopez, who plays A.C. Slater; Tiera Skovbye as Elizabeth Berkeley, who plays Jessie Spano, and Sam Kindseth as Dustin Diamond, who plays Screech.
"The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story" is set to air on Sept. 1 at 9 p.m. on Lifetime.
