Juan Manuel Marquez remains cold about the idea of facing Manny Pacquiao in a fifth showdown later this year, but boxing personalities, including trainer Peter Fury, is still hoping that the fight will happen.

In an interview with On The Ropes Boxing Radio, Fury, who is famous for training Tyson Fury, expressed hope that Pacquiao vs Marquez 5 will eventually happen, saying that Pacquiao deserves an opportunity to avenge his loss.

Pacquiao, who is the reigning WBO welterweight champion after winning against Timothy Bradley on April 12, absorbed a devastating sixth-round knockout loss to Marquez in the fourth fight in December 2012.

"I sincerely hope that fight goes ahead," Fury said. "And he (Pacquiao) corrects that loss, because Pacquiao belongs up there with the best"

The 40-year-old Mexican looked headed to a loss in their fourth fight, but he landed a vicious right-hand counter punch that knocked Pacquiao out cold in the sixth round.

"I think the Marquez fight, the last time, was a freak punch," Fury said of Marquez's knockout punch.

And when asked about his prediction in case the fight happens this year, Fury said that Pacquiao, as usual, will have another long night against Marquez, but he feels that the Filipino boxing icon will run away with a decision win.

"It's gonna be a good fight, but I just see Pacquiao a clear points winner," Fury said.

Fury added that Pacquiao has been a completely different fighter since losing to Marquez, which came after also absorbing a defeat to Bradley during the welterweight title showdown in June 2012.

After the costly twin defeats, Pacquiao bounced back with convincing unanimous decision victories against Brandon Rios in November 2013 and against Bradley in April.

"I see Pacquiao as more of a complete boxer than Marquez, and I just see Pacquiao avenging that terrible loss," Fury said.

Marquez, who is the top contender for Pacquiao's welterweight title, is coming off an impressive win against Mike Alvarado last month - six months after losing to Bradley in October.

The Mexican boxing icon is aiming to become a world champion in five different divisions, and winning against Pacquiao will fulfil that goal, but Marquez reportedly wants a 50-50 split on fight purse before agreeing for the fifth fight.
