Things are looking gloomy and dark for the Beauchamp witches when Witches of East End returns for Season 2 tonight. For one thing, most if not all of them are left in the dark when it comes to the things that have happened after the portal to Asgard opened. Amid their ignorance is the presence of a mystical creature that has crossed over to their world in last season's finale. Elsewhere, Joanna and Victor will fight against a losing battle with the former's argentum poisoning. Ingrid, on the other hand, has developed a dangerous somnambulist habit while Freya gets the short end of the stick when it comes to love. Actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum recently spoke of her character's new adventure when Witches of East End season 2 airs at the SAG Foundation. She admitted that Freya doesn't "know where [Killian] is" but she will eventually use her powers to connect with him. "He's not answering me, I've said 'I'm in love with you, you're my soulmate,' but I'm hearing nothing so I'm pretty heartbroken," Jenna dished. "And then you know, there's a sense of we're witches so of course our intuition and our sixth senses are really, really strong so I feel like something's off, something's not right." Additionally, it seems that Fredrick is going to be the first one to cross over to the East End and his presence will change the dynamics in the Beauchamp family. Spoilers even claim that Fredrick's entry might mean Joanna's death. "She's really in bad shape and it's not certain she's going to come through," actress Julia Ormond, who plays Joanna, said recently. "Frederick is someone who has this tangled, negative past with them, so his coming back brings into their lives from Asgard a character shadowed, veiled in doubt. Are they going to embrace him as a family member? How much flak and forgiveness is he going to be given?" Catch the season premiere tonight at 9/8c on Lifetime. Actress Rachel Boston, who plays Ingrid, also dropped some major spoilers on the brand-new season. "There's a lot of warlocks in Season 2. The whole theme is 'darkness is rising,' and I think that now that the portal to Asgard is open, we don't know what's coming out," Boston said. "And so everyone's really going to have to step into their strengths and their powers and figure out how to hold tight and protect each other. But yes, Dash and Killian are full-blown warlocks now. They have their powers, so we're going to see them explore what that means." Witches of East End season 2 is premiering tonight at 9/8c on Lifetime. The official synopsis of Witches of East End season 2 episode 1 reads: "All the Beauchamp witches have trouble remembering exactly what happened after the portal opened and fear a mystical presence crossed over to their world. Victor helps Joanna fight what seems to be a losing battle with her argentum poisoning. Ingrid develops a dangerous sleep walking habit while Freya has visions of Killian in danger."
Lifetime's show summary for Witches of East End reads: "Based on Melissa de la Cruz's New York Times best-selling novel, the series centers on the Beauchamp family, where in season one sisters Freya (Dewan Tatum) and Ingrid (Boston) discovered they are witches with ancient magical powers. With the help of their mother Joanna (Ormond) and aunt Wendy (Amick), they learned how to cultivate their craft and work together to defeat unearthly enemies seeking revenge on their family, while keeping their abilities a secret from the town."
"This season, with the portal to Asgard open, what comes through will forever change the lives of the Beauchamps. Darkness surrounds East End as a new stranger (Cooke) arrives. Joanna is still weak with poison in her blood as the Beauchamps search desperately for a cure. With the death of Penelope (Virginia Madsen), Killian (DiTomasso) and Dash's (Winter) warlock powers return."
