Strangled jogger's husband was arrested for murder of his wife that was found dead Tuesday in Pennypack Park in northeast Philadelphia. Through a news conference on a Sunday afternoon, the authorities had reported the arrest of the jogger's husband, 48-year-old Christopher Murray. He was charged with murder by strangling his 46-year-old wife, Constance, the mother of their two daughters.
It was reported that the strangled jogger's husband had confessed the crime to the cops and on how he strangled his wife after following her when she went for a Monday night jog. Reports showed that Christopher Murray strangled his wife after they argued and fought then left her body on a bench in the park. Authorities claimed that it was more of a rage incident rather than a premeditated crime.
Early Wednesday, it was stated that Christopher Murray called the law enforcement agency to report his wife as missing. Several hours later, a woman walking her dog had found Connie Murray's body. Her headphones and cellphone were recovered in a nearby sewer.
A surveillance video had shown that the strangled jogger's husband, Christopher Murray, was in his vehicle, and he was taken in for questioning. The police said that certain aspects of his story didn't sum up. He also failed in the lie detector test and finally confessed the crime he committed.
The couple had two daughters ages 12 and 15. And they were going to found out that their father had been arrested and charged in the death of their mother.
According to an obituary, a memorial service was scheduled for Sunday and the funeral for Monday.
Though the strangled jogger's husband, Christopher Murray had confessed, authorities recounted that there will be no celebration in this case. However, the entire neighborhood will be relieved that there are no predator or serial killers that are lurking around the area.
On August 27, a preliminary hearing was set. There were no lawyers listed on the court papers for the strangled jogger's husband, Christopher Murray. He was also denied bail.
