'The View' new co-hosts have finally been revealed after weeks of guessing and predicting who are going to take the vacant seats Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy left behind just last month.
According to Deadline, 'The View' new co-hosts are Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace. The site broke the news ahead of the official announcement and confirmation made by ABC on the two new co-hosts of its hit daytime talk show.
Since actress Rosie Perez and renowned political commentator Nicolle Wallace have already been confirmed to replace Shepherd and McCarthy, both are expected to debut on the show when it returns for a new season on Sept. 15.
The two 'The View' new co-hosts have reportedly been chosen because of their presence on the show is expected to give the ratings a boost.
Wallace, who formerly served as communications director for George W. Bush, was chosen after she passed the screen test last month.
Insiders said that since that time, she was seen to be one of the top frontrunners to join the talk show.
Not only because of her political credentials but also because she has already done three guest co-hosting stints just this year.
On the other hand, Perez has already been perceived to be one of the prospects to take one of the empty seats on "The View" because she is a household name and has served as a guest co-host in the talk show just this February.
"These are powerful and accomplished women from different walks of life who have had amazing personal and professional experiences. Each brings incredible perspective and information to the table," executive producer Bill Wolff said of 'The View' new co-hosts, according to E! News.
"This mix of smart, vibrant and energetic women is unlike anything else on daytime television," Wolff added.
As part of the casting process, all of the hopefuls were tasked to participate in chemistry tests in front of an audience of 75. And based on the results, Perez and Wallace may have shown promise to the loyal fans of the show such that they were chosen.
