Real Madrid goal-machine Cristiano Ronaldo is not ruling out the likelihood of playing at Old Trafford, saying he's open to join Manchester United in the future.

Ronaldo, considered as one of the finest footballers in the world, has expressed his frustrations at Santiago de Bernabeau after Real Madrid bosses sent his closest teammates Angel di Maria and Xavi Alonso packing as part of their myriad of moves for this season.

Despite their epic win in last May's UEFA Champions league, Ronaldo appears to be at a crossroad as he ponders over his future with the Los Blancos and the possibility of joining the Red Devils.

"I have strong opinions but I can't always say what I think. Otherwise it would be on the front page and I don't want that," Ronaldo said of the sale of Di Maria and Alonso. "But if it was up to me, I wouldn't have done so."

After adding James Rodriguez of Colombia and Toni Kross of Germany, Real Madrid sold Di Maria to Manchester United and Alonso to Bayern Munich before the transfer window expired.

With regards to joining Man United, Ronaldo leaves everything open.

"I was 18 years old (when I signed), I win everything there, the people treat me like a God there so I appreciate that and the future, nobody knows," said Ronaldo, who scored 84 goals over 196 games from 2003 to 2009.

Caught offside reported that Manchester United is already making its move to acquire Ronaldo when the next transfer window open. According to sources, the Red Devils is planning to shell out £117 million with Ronaldo receiving a maximum paycheck of £300K salary per week.

The Red Devils are no strangers to big spending, having brought goal-scorers Radamel Falcao, Marco Rojo and di Maria. Louis Van Gaal, who is currently shaky in his first year at Old Trafford, is committed to make all necessary moves for the ball club to be in position in adding another top caliber player.

"Man United are readying a £55m bid to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo and in view of the club's £150m outlay on summer additions boss Louis van Gaal will be encouraged to trim his expansive squad in order to help fund the move for the Real Madrid star," Caught Offside reported.
