T.J. Lane 2014 Update: Authorities Recaptures Convicted Killer After Escape

Authorities reported that convicted killer T.J. Lane was recaptured Friday morning after almost six hours from escaping the Allen Oakwood Correctional Institution in Lima, Ohio.
T.J. Lane who killed three students in an attack at Chardon High School in 2012 was taken into custody around twenty minutes past one Friday morning after escaping from the prison. Warden Kevin Jones said at a press conference early Friday that T.J. Lane was caught about 100 yards from the perimeter fence without incident.
The thermal imaging assisted in taking T.J. Lane back into custody as per the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Lane was among the three inmates who escaped from the Allen Oakwood Correctional Institution on Thursday night. One of the inmates, Lindsey Bruce was soon recaptured after. Officials confirmed early Friday that Clifford Opperud, 45-year old was also back into custody.
T.J. Lane, 19-year old, was the prime shooter of killing the three male students at Chardon High School. Lane used a .22 caliber handgun and shoots 10 rounds of ammunition from the gun at the group of students in the cafeteria. Prior to the incident, rumors of a warning of the event had been posted on the internet circulated; student witnesses identified Lane as the shooter.
T.J. Lane was convicted and received three life sentences without parole for the Chardon High School shooting.
Currently, T.J. Lane is back into custody after being recaptured following his escape together with two other inmates. The escaped caused several reactions from the residents. The incident also instigated extreme panic over the nearby residents. Lima Police Sergeant Andy Green said that authorities conducted searches at the wooded area and a residential neighborhood near the prison.
Officials said that T.J. Lane did not put up a fight and didn't make any comment when recaptured by two State Highway Patrol officers on the Special Response team. The police also reported that Lane had a pitchfork at the time he was apprehended.
The authorities said that the escape happened during rec time and T.J. Lane scaled a fence 100 feet from the main perimeter fence. No any other details about how the inmates escape were revealed. There are no threats for the public's safety after T.J. Lane and the two other escapees were recaptured and back into custody.
