US District Judge Sentences Osama Bin Laden’s Son-In-Law Of Life Imprisonment After CIA Captured Him Last Year

In 2000, Sulaiman Abu Ghaith met Osama bin Laden and joined al Qaeda because of his attraction for public speaking. The 48-year old insurgent married Osama bin Laden's daughter. The CIA's bin Laden group tracked Abu Ghaith's hotel in Ankara. He was sentenced of life imprisonment after his arrest on March 2013.
Associated Press (AP) reported that according to U.S. District Judge Lewis A. Kaplan, Osama bin Laden's son-in-law Abu Ghaith showed no sign of remorse. He is considered as the highest ranking al Qaeda member to be put on trial in the U.S. since 2001. Sulaiman Abu Ghaith denied being involved and said that his acts are purely religious nonetheless he was found guilty of conspiracy to kill Americans and aiding al Qaeda. Because the CIA was working with MIT, Turkey's national intelligence they were able to arrest the insurgent.
Osama bin Laden's son-in-law was responsible for the recruitment of videos for al Qaeda following the September 11 attacks. He gained attention when he came out on two videos which defend the 9/11 attacks with Osama bin Laden. CIA seized him in Jordan in March 2013 and was deported to his homeland, Kuwait. The former al Qaeda spokesman Abu Ghaith was arrested in Turkey.
During his sentence, Sulaiman Abu Ghaith said through an interpreter that he didn't go there to seek mercy from anyone but God. A three-week trial was made were videos of Abu Ghaith were shown that included threats. They called him a terrorist who sat alongside Osama bin Laden on the morning of September 12, 2001 celebrating the murder of almost 3,000 innocent men, women and children.
On April 2013, Abu Ghaith's lawyers sought the right to call a witness but on March 2014 this request was denied by a New York federal judge. Then Osama bin Laden's son-in law was convicted on March 26, 2014 with the help of CIA.
In his 2002 statement in Iran, Osama bin Laden's son-in-law who was apprehended by the CIA said that al Qaeda has the right to kill four million Americans, including one million children, displace double that figure, and injure and cripple hundreds and thousands. His other statements caused the Kuwaiti authorities to strip his citizenship.
With the help of the CIA, one of the most notorious terrorist insurgent, Sulaiman Abu Ghaith, Osama bin Laden's son-in-law and acolyte was arrested; and is now facing life imprisonment sentence in the U.S. soil.
