New York Mayor Dispels Concerns over Impending ISIS Attack on City's Subway System

The Mayor of New York Bill de Blasio has assured New Yorkers that there is no threat to the city's subway system after the Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi revealed that intelligence reports indicate ISIS militants are planning to stage an attack in the subways of New York and Paris.
According to the Iraqi leader, who made this revelation on the sidelines of the ongoing United Nations meeting in New York, the terrorists are foreign nationals trained by the terrorists. "They are not Iraqis. Some of them are French, some of them are Americans. But they are in Iraq", he said, adding that his sources are 'credible.'
Last month, US officials revealed that intelligence reports indicate that ISIS-link terrorists in Mexico were planning to stage an attack on the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 bombing. And last week, a top spokesman for the terrorists openly charged Muslims in western countries to attack non-Muslims.
Despite these incidents, US officials have dismissed the recent claims of the Iraqi prime minister. Caitlin Hayden, the White House National Security Council spokesperson told the press that "We have not confirmed such a plot, and would have to review any information from our Iraqi partners before making further determinations. We take any threat seriously and always work to corroborate information we receive from our partners."
Meanwhile, MSNBC has revealed that its sources say the FBI has not found any corresponding threats to corroborate the warning of the Iraqi premier. Reports indicate that many US officials acted completely uninformed when questioned about the alleged terrorist plots. It is unclear if officials were attempting to control the spread of panic in the media, as some commentators claim, or were truly kept out of the loop by the Iraqi government.
The US and France have been central to the ongoing airstrikes against ISIS targets in Iraq. On Wednesday, ISIS-linked terrorists released a video of the gruesome beheading of a French national, who was abducted in Algeria.
