Following the Breezes Lounge shooting incident that resulted in a man's death in 2011, another nightclub in Miami is involved in a gunfire incident when the shooting erupted early Sunday morning. Miami police said that at least 15 people were injured when the firing broke out.
According to the Miami Police authorities, gunfire erupted at around 1 in the morning on September 28, 2014 at The Spot, a nightclub in Miami, Florida. The shooting resulted to at least 15 people wounded however; it is still indistinct what caused the incident and how many shooters were involved.
The authorities are currently investigating several mysteries that surround the pre-dawn shooting in a Miami nightclub where numerous minors were seen at the site. The Miami police are conducting interviews and queries to witnesses that were present when the weekend bedlam broke out that left at least 15 injured victims.
Miami Fire Rescue Captain Ignatius Carroll said that among the victims that were hit by the shooting early Sunday morning at The Spot nightclub were five minor girls. The five girls were ranging in age from 11 to 17. Captain Carroll said, "What was very surprising to the responders was that these were kids that were out at 1 o'clock in the morning in a club and this type of violence took place where a bunch of kids were gathering. It's very disturbing to see that."
Police Spokesperson Frederica Burden said that investigators were questioning the owner to determine what type of club The Spot is and why several underage children were there during the shooting. Burden also said that she had never heard of the place regardless of having worked in the vicinity for years. Fire rescue officials will also check on what kind of crowds the Miami nightclub is licensed for.
Captain Carroll said that the Miami nightclub shooting led frightened clienteles into the street. When the authorities reached the scene, they found injured people inside and outside the club and some were too wounded to abscond. As per his Associated Press statement, the first emergency squads arriving on the site were cautioned because active gunfire was still happening in the area. When emergency responders arrived, one male was found unresponsive and not breathing.
Police Spokeswoman Frederica Burden said it was not instantly clear how many shooters were involved or what stimulated the ferocity. As of Sunday, police had not made any arrests and had not overtly identified any suspects. Shortly after the shootings, police officials blocked off the outside of the Miami nightclub with yellow crime scene tape and emergency automobiles obstructed the street facing the scene.
As per police reports, one was reported in critical but stable condition out of the 15 injured victims during the Miami nightclub shooting incident. Other victims who stayed in the hospital were in good condition and some had also been released.
