New York Woman Beheaded By Son Who Jumps In Front Of Moving Train After Murder

New York woman beheaded - A woman has been beheaded by her son who committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving Long Island rail road train after his brutal crime.

Police have revealed that the New York woman beheaded was 66-years-old Patricia Ward, an assistant professor of Language Arts at Farmingdale State College's LI Education Opportunity Center.

Nassau County authorities say Ward was gruesomely murdered on Tuesday shortly before 8.p.m by her 35-years-old son Derek Ward. 

Reports indicate that Derek, who has a history of mental disorder, used a kitchen knife to stab and then behead his mother.

The incident is believed to have begun on the second floor of the Farmingdale apartment they both shared. Detective Lt. John Azzata said that the New York woman beheaded had several broken ribs and stab wounds.

"There were multiple signs of trauma, multiple stab wounds, broken ribs," Azzata said. He went on to reveal that police have found the knife used in the horrific incident.

Derek's body was found on the train tracks. Although investigations are still on-going, authorities believe his death was a suicide. He allegedly jumped in front of a moving Ronkonkoma-bound train near Clinton St after murdering his mother in the apartment they've shared for three months.

According to reports , witnesses who found the decapitated body of the New York woman beheaded initially thought the crime scene was part of an elaborate Halloween prank.  The corpse was found lying close to a house decorated in the spirit of Halloween with pumpkins, a mock graveyard and fake cobwebs.

"I saw the head first - long, black, straight hair and a partial face," said Dale Silverman, a 59-years-old witness. "I did a double-take, thinking it was a stupid little shrunken head you would hang as a Halloween thing".

Farmingdale State College has described news about the New York woman beheaded by as shocking and painful, particularly since the victim was a staff of the institution.

A statement issued by the university describes the New York woman beheaded Patricia as "well-known, well-liked and well-respected." "The campus is a very sad place today".

Officials say he son of the New York woman beheaded son, Derek, who is also the main suspect in the crime had  a criminal record. He was arrested in 2003 for gun possession and criminal mischief, but he has not been linked to any terrorist organization.
