The new Fantasy Basketball season has started and several players surprised the skeptics in their first game this season. Here is a quick look on players that should consider picking up in case they are still available in your fantasy leagues.

Perry Jones - Oklahoma City Thunder

Most fantasy owners snubbed Perry Jones even in deeper leagues after averaging just 3.5 points and 1.8 rebounds in 12 minutes per game last season, but the former Baylor standout is now worth a serious look in all formats.

With Kevin Durant out for several weeks, Jones started at small forward in their 106-89 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday and in their 93-90 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday.

Jones only scored three points and three rebounds against the Trail Blazers, but he erupted for 32 points on 58.8 percent shooting from the field to go along with seven rebounds and three assists against the Clippers.

The Thunder also lost Russell Westbrook to a hand injury and will likely be sidelined for at least four weeks. Without Westbrook and Durant along with Reggie Jackson, Jones is expected to play a bigger role over the next several weeks. Until Durant and Westbrook returns, Jones is a must-own in all league formats.

Ed Davis - Los Angeles Lakers

Los Angeles Lakers forward Ed Davis is also worth a look in all formats after rookie Julius Randle went down with a fractured leg, which will likely put him on the sidelines for the rest of the season.

Davis is expected to get more minutes after Randle's injury. In his first two games for the Lakers this season, the 25-year-old forward averaged 12.5 points on an impressive 64.7 percent clip from the field, while also tallying 7.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 2.0 blocks.

Donald Sloan - Indiana Pacers

Donald Sloan is a relatively unknown to casual fantasy owners before the season started, but the Indiana Pacers guard managed to get a lot of attention on Wednesday.

Sloan scored 16 points to go along with 10 rebounds and six assists to lead the Pacers to a 103-91 win against the Philadelphia 76ers. He is expected to start at PG in the next few weeks as the Pacers are still waiting for the return of George Hill.

If you have still a room for another guard, Sloan should be considered, but take him with a grain of salt as there are still doubts if he can sustain his impressive showing in their next games.
