With their starting quarterback already sidelined with a back injury, the Dallas Cowboys will surely be tested against an emerging powerhouse in the NFC, the Arizona Cardinals, on Sunday at 1:00 p.m (US EST) at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

What's on the Line?

Tony Romo is expected to be sidelined on Sunday's big game in Dallas, after MRI results showed small fractures in his back. The Cowboys quarterback has already covered 1,998 yards with 15 touchdowns this season, making his absence a big blow for the 16^th best passing game (at 240.1 yards per game) in the NFL.

"Anytime someone's had back surgery you're always a little bit nervous when you get hit in a specific instance like that," Romo said in an interview via ESPN. "The positive is it's completely unrelated to the disk or anything that could be long term, per se. So that part of if, yeah, that's a positive."

While Romo's latest injury is not associated with his surgically repaired-disc in his back, his impending absence could nevertheless put the Cowboys' campaign in jeopardy after winning six straight games.

On the other hand, it has been all roses for Carson Palmer since he returned from a shoulder injury. The veteran quarterback has already covered over 1,000 yards with eight touchdowns to lead the streaking Cardinals to the best record in the NFL at 6-1 (currently tied with the Denver Broncos).

During their torrid run, the Cardinals have beaten really good teams like the San Diego Chargers, San Francisco 49ers and Washington Redskins, but last Sunday's win over the Philadelphia Eagles was surely a statement victory.

Players to Watch:

Cowboys: With Romo sitting out of the game, DeMarco Murray is expected to carry the load for the Cowboys offense. Murray is having a historic season, as he topped 100 rushing yards in each of their first eight games. Overall, the Cowboys running back has accumulated 1,054 rushing yards with seven touchdowns around his belt.

Cardinals: Palmer has been the man for the Cardinals all season long, and Sunday's game won't be an exception. He has completed 61 percent of his passes for 1,136 yards with just one interception in the season.
