Son hanging from hook - A teenage Virginia mom has been arrested after a contentious photo of her 14 months old son hanging from a hook surfaced on Facebook.
18 years old Alexis Breeden, who allegedly took the photo herself, has been leveled with child abuse charges. Reports indicate that she has been set free at a bail of $2,500 and is set to appear in court later in the month.
Sgt James Konicki revealed that the boy's father Anthony Welch, 18, posted the photo of his son hanging from hook on Facebook after an argument with Breeden. Welch and Bredeen are no longer together and it is unclear what the two were quarrelling about at the time the photo was taken.
The image, which showed their son hanging from a hook with his shirt and crying, has been widely condemned by many people. Reports indicate that the photo was taken several weeks before it went public. Although Welch is not facing any charges, people have accused him of failing to report the brutality against his son earlier.
When he posted the photo on Facebook, Welch commented that Breeden had sent him the photo of their son hanging from hook. He noted that everyone thinks Breeden is a good mother, before asking what the public thought of the photo.
Meanwhile, Breeden agrees the whole incident was an "immature and dumb" joke. She claims that Welch had also thought it was funny. Reports indicate that she has been restricted from seeing her son except in the company of an adult.
After ranting rather angrily on Facebook about the incident and telling people to mind their own business, the repentant mother expressed her regrets to CBS 6.
"I didn't do anything and I never will do anything to hurt my son. My son was not hurt at all," she said.
Bredeen went on to explain that although the photo of her son hanging from hook looks "horrible" it is not as bad as it seems.
