Macaulay Culkin 2014: Former Child Star Denies Death Rumors On Social Media

Macaulay Culkin 2014 - Over the weekend, Macaulay Culkin was again the subject of death hoaxes. According to the latest rumors, the former child star was allegedly found dead in his Manhattan apartment on Friday. However, Culkin posted on social media to deny the death rumors.
The 34-year-old former child star, Macaulay Culkin is an American actor and musician who became famous for his role as Kevin McCallister in "Home Alone" movies. He is also known for his roles in "Richie Rich," "Uncle Buck" and for Michael Jackson's "Black or White" music video. According to E! News, Culkin's death hoaxes last weekend was not the first for the actor for he was also a target back in April 2014.
At the time of the spread of Macaulay Culkin's death rumors, a fake Facebook memorial page was set up on Nov. 6, 2014. As posted by Snopes, the social media post claimed the former child star had died.
"At about 11 a.m. ET on Thursday (Nov. 06, 2014), our beloved actor Macaulay Culkin passed away," the hoaxers wrote. "Macaulay Culkin was born on August 26, 1980 in New York. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page."
The Facebook page was taken down shortly after. But a lot of people had been fooled by the death rumors. Luckily, the rumors was promptly denied by Macaulay Culkin and his representatives. As reported by The Sydney Morning Herald, Culkin's rep released a statement over the weekend to confirm the star was indeed alive.
"He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the internet," Culkin's representatives said.
Apart from his acting career, Macaulay Culkin is also a musician and plays in a band called the "Pizza Underground." The 34-year-old actor decided to address the rumors in a much relaxed manner.
"We're on tour you silly people / @anchovywarhol's," the caption showed on a photographed posted on the band's Instagram account. The picture also showed a smiling Macaulay Culkin holding a bottled drink.
"One of the great things you can do when you're alive is stop for lunch in Breaux Bridge, LA," captioned under another picture of the band, including a very much alive Macaulay Culkin.
Though Macaulay Culkin has found the whole 2014 death rumors of him as amusing, apparently his fans did not. According to Celebrity Post, 85 percent of the voters in a poll of 1,400 people think the actor's death rumors are not funny anymore.
Meanwhile, this 2014, Macaulay Culkin has definitely joined other celebrities like Jon Bon Jovi, Reba McEntire and Bill Cosby, who responded to their own death hoaxes in creative ways on social media.
