Bahamas Plane Crash 2014: Deadly Plane Crash Kills Renowned Evangelical Pastor And Wife

Bahamas Plane Crash 2014 - Prime Minister Perry Christie said Monday that Dr. Myles Munroe, a renowned evangelical pastor and his wife, Ruth Munroe, were among the nine people killed when a small plane crashed while trying to land on the Grand Bahama island on Sunday.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Transport and Aviation, the plane had taken off from the Bahamian capital of Nassau and crashed while attempting to land around 5 p.m. local time in Freeport. Fox News reported police and fire authorities are conducting a full investigation of the 2014 Bahamas plane crash.

The Bahamas plane crash transpired as Munroe and others were gathering in Grand Bahama for the 2014 Global Leadership Forum. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined, though there had been heavy rain across the region.

Dr. Myles Munroe was a well-known pastor, motivational speaker, prolific bestselling author, business coach and evangelist. As said by USA Today, the 60-year-old prominent minister was the founder and president of Bahamas Faith Ministries International.

Meanwhile, the Bahamas Tribune reported the authorities said the Lear 36 Executive Jet exploded on impact after it has struck a construction crane at the Grand Bahama shipyard and plunged into a scrapyard. As per The Guardian, the Bahamas plane crash 2014 occurred as it was making its landing approach for the airport, roughly an hour after takeoff from the capital of the archipelago.  

"The Department of Civil Aviation has been advised unofficially that the aircraft was destroyed and that there were no survivors," the Ministry of Transport and Aviation said.

Former mayor of Atlanta and former U.S Ambassador to the United Nations, Andrew Young was scheduled to be on the flight and to speak at the popular leadership forum. However, his spokesperson said he felt "guided by the spirit" not to get on board. In a statement on the Andrew J. Young Foundation Facebook page, the former ambassador expressed his sadness and condolences.

"Ambassador Young expresses his deep sadness over the tragic death of his friends Dr. Myles and Mrs. Ruth Munroe," as written on the Facebook page. "He offers condolences to the Monroe family and the families of the other souls who lost their lives as a result of this shocking plane crash."

The deadly 2014 Bahamas plane crash has killed 9 people among those were Dr. Myles Munroe, Mrs. Ruth Munroe, as well as Bahamas Faith Ministries deputy Richard Pinder and another pastor. However, Forbes reported that Munroe's daughter, Charisa has also died in the plane crash.

The tragic death of Munroe has visibly-shaken the followers of Bahamas Faith Ministries International. Prime Minster Perry Christie also expressed his sadness over the pastor's death.

"It is utterly impossible to measure the magnitude of the Dr. Munroe's loss to the Bahamas and to the world," Christie said in a statement. "He was indisputably one of the most globally recognizable religious figures our nation has ever produced."  

Despite the Bahamas plane crash that killed Munroe and 8 others, the 2014 forum will go on as scheduled. It was stated in a message posted on the Facebook page of the pastor's ministry.

"We would like to inform you that the Global Leadership Forum will continue," the post said. "This is what Dr. Munroe would have wanted. Please keep his family and the ministry in prayers."

The Bahamas plane crash this 2014 have killed the prolific evangelical minister, Dr. Myles Munroe, who is widely known for his work and teachings on leadership, purpose and maximizing potential, vision, individual and national transformation.

The Munroes have been living out their purpose in life, which is spreading the gospel of Christ. Because of the tragic plane crash in the Bahamas this 2014, the Munroes leave behind their son, Chairo "Myles Jr." Munroe.
