Will Ferrell net worth - The 47 years old actor and comedian is set to become millions of dollars richer if he sells his highly rated Funny or Die website. According to Bloomberg, this may be a reality as a financial adviser has been appointed by the site to assess selling, among other revenue-generating options.
Funny or Die is valued to be worth about $100 to $300 million. Reports indicate that the company has contacted an investment bank over the prospects of selling.
But in a memo sent out to employees, the Chief Executive Officer of Funny or Die Dick Glover explains that despite receiving unsolicited interests in the website from some companies, there are no attempts to sell Funny or Die at the moment.
"In the meantime, if any of you mistakenly receive a briefcase full of cash, please bring it to my office immediately," he writes.
Funny or Die was founded in 2007 by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy. The site specializes in short funny videos, some of which feature renowned personalities. The appearance of President Barack Obama on one of these videos earlier in the year to discuss healthcare is widely regarded as a high point in the site's history.
If Funny or Die is sold, it could rake in a lot of money and increase Will Ferrell's net worth. The Internship actor is currently worth about $80 to $85 million.
Will Ferrell's impressive net worth reflects the fact that he has been one of the country's most consistent funnymen since he burst in the scene in the 90s. In his two decade-long career, Will Ferrell has starred in nearly 50 movies and over 100 episodes of TV shows. He has also received several awards to his credit.
Will Ferrell's net worth is expected to receive a boost in the near future regardless of whether the former Saturday Night Live host sells his short comedy video website. Will Ferrell has about four movies in the pipelines. He also stars in a new comedy series, which will begin to air in 2015.
