At 10:22 a.m. Friday, reality star and MedGift founder-creator Diem Brown died at 32 after her long battle with cancer in New York City. Brown, who rose to fame on MTV's "Real World/Road Rules Challenge," became an advocate and inspiration for others facing similar battles.

Before she died, Diem Brown was an entertainment reporter and was also the founder and creator of MedGift, a Web site that provides support pages to people going through any medical or health experience. In her debut challenge on MTV's "Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Fresh Meat" in 2006, Brown revealed she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

Diem Brown had outspokenly chronicled her fight with cancer in a blog for People.com. Prior to her death, she tweeted on Tuesday that her doctors were "giving up" but she was unwavering to combat the disease.

"I need prayers and advice my doctors are seemingly giving up but I won't & can't rollover. Whatever option I have to LIVE I'm grabbing!" Brown tweeted.

At age 23, Diem Brown had first been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. It had returned twice in 2006 and in 2012 and a third time earlier this year before she died. According to USA Today, Brown said the cancer found in her stomach and colon in August had spread to her liver and lymph nodes.

"That was a shocker to me," Brown said at the time. "I was blown away. It really crushed a little bit of my spirit."

Yet, Diem Brown remained severely determined to fight the disease and focus on the cancer-free life she dreamed of having some day. According to People, among her goals was her dream of becoming a mother, a wish beyond all others.

"I'm going to have a family and get married and the whole American, 2½ kids, white-picket fence dream," she said. "It's something that's really important to me, because it means a long-term future."

Diem Brown had been honest about her hardships and she openly shared them with others, which became a huge significance to her life.

"It's important to me to share the 'realness' of my journey," she said. "It's okay to admit that at times it's hard, that it can be tough."

Despite her struggles with cancer, Diem Brown's spirit and faith never wavered.

"No matter what it is, you're going to have the bad days, but if you have hope throughout, you won, no matter what the results," she said back in October. "Life is so beautiful."

This week, friends and family had been gathering at her bedside at a New York City hospital as her condition worsened. And on Nov. 14, 2014, Diem Brown died at age 32.
