The new Android 5.0 Lollipop is now available for most high-end devices, but most users aren't aware of the new features of the updated system. Here is a quick look at some of the hidden and little-known features of the new Android update.
Tap & Go
Android Lollipop 5.0 is arguably one the most anticipated update from Google. But in order to experience the performance improvements fully, some consumers will likely need to get a new device.
If you are hesitating to switch device because you have important information on your old device, Google actually made it easier for you to transfer data and information, which can be done with one tap. Android users can pair their Lollipop smartphone or tablet to the old one and transfer data via Bluetooth.
"This is extremely handy and should make the transition to a new Lollipop device easier than ever," Phone Arena noted. "Even your icons and folders are installed and then arranged in the same way they were on the host device."
Search Setting Applications
If you are not fond of browsing the entire Settings menu to customize your device, you can take advantage of the additional function integrated by Google to the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.
Instead of manually looking for a Settings application, users can now just perform a quick search using the new Google Search bar. If you want to change your Display settings, you can just type "Display" or a specific one like "Brightness" to get into the app.
Hidden Easter Eggs
According to Phone Arena, most Android users are not aware that the usual Hidden Easter Egg feature is still on Android Lollipop, but Google made it more difficult to find it this time unlike in previous Android updates.
"Google is in the habit of putting those in all major Android updates - Gingerbread had one, and so did Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, and KitKat," Phone Arena noted. "Lollipop is no exception, but here's the twist: Google added an entire game. That's right, if you go to Settings > About phone > Tap on Android versions 4 times in a quick succession, you'll unlock the Easter egg."
In order to activate this interesting feature, Android users will have to tap the lollipop image several times and perform a long-press to get the Hidden Easter Egg game.
