NFC East rivals Dallas Cowboys (8-3) and the Philadelphia 76ers (8-3) will meet for the first time this season. But unlike the previous seasons, both teams this time are gunning for a crucial win that will certainly help their bid in advancing into the playoffs. After narrowly missing the postseason last year, the Cowboys appear to be ready to make that one big step towards fulfilling their Super Bowl aspirations.
Dallas recovered well from a back-to-back setback at the hands of the Washington Redskins and the Arizona Cardinals, as they won their last two games (Win vs. Jacksonville Jaguars 31-17 and the New York Giants 31-28) to keep them in playoff conversation.
Tomy Romo has been doing tremendously well despite dealing with back problems for the past couple of games. The Cowboys quarterback is currently having one of the best seasons in his career, completing 203 of his 295 for 2,519 yards with 22 touchdowns.
Runningback DeMarco Murray is having a big year as well, as he became the first player in NFL history to record at least 100 rushing yards in the first eight game and 10 of the first 11 games of the season. All in all, he has already amassed 1,354 rushing yards on 268 carries with seven touchdowns in the season.
Meanwhile, the Eagles returned to the winning column after beating the Tennessee Titans 43-24. After absorbing an embarrassing 53-20 loss at the hands of the Green Bay Packers on Week 11, Philadelphia regained their top notch passing game that ranked 4th in the league at 291.1 passing yards per game.
With Nick Foles out indefinitely with a broken collarbone, his back-up quarterback Mark Sanchez is playing just fine with 1,187 passing yards and 7 touchdowns. Pro Bowl running backs LaSean McCoy (859 yards with three TDs) and Darren Sproles (282 yards with five touchdowns) are also putting up big numbers for the Eagles who are rated 12th in rushing yards per game (118.7 ypg).
