April Fools' Day is celebrated on April 1 every year. Also known as All Fools' Day, people play pranks, create hoaxes and fool their friends, family members, teachers, neighbours etc. And some are literally fooled on this day but all in good humour, as it is a day to have fun by fooling others.

Here are experiences of people who fall victims to April Fools' Day pranks:-

"When I was in high school, our principal announced on April 1 that we could go home after the first period as they wanted to do some renovation work. Everyone acclaimed 'YEH' and I was so happy too. But by the time the class got over, another teacher entered the class room. We told the teacher that the principal had announced holiday. She laughed and said it was just an April Fools' Day prank. We were fooled and that day was the longest day" - Praveen Kumar from Andhra Pradesh.

"About a decade ago, a leading national daily carried a news story that sandalwood smuggler Veerappan, who had a price of Rs. 50 million on his head, was caught by the police. It was also had a morphed photo of the police personnel escorting the sandalwood smuggler, who was handcuffed. I thought it was real. But by afternoon, I came to know that it was just an April Fools' Day prank" - Romeo from Bangalore, Karnataka.

"I got a call early in the morning from my team leader at my work place. He told me that there wouldn't be office on that day as the company wanted to replace the computers. I was so happy and went back to sleep. But after an hour or so, one of my colleagues called up and said that there was office. My joy turned into disappointment. I forgot that it was April 1" - Aaron from Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh.

"A few years ago, I decided to fool my uncle on April Fools' Day. I went to his house and told him that my dad asked him to meet him urgently. My uncle said 'ok' and then asked me to get a pack of cigarette from a shop telling the shopkeeper awed him Rs.100. I had a long argument with the shopkeeper, as he said that he didn't awe anything to my uncle. When I returned to my uncle's house without cigarette, everyone burst into laughter on seeing me angry. I got fooled instead of fooling my uncle" - Thomas Pou from Manipur.

"Last year, my store manager surprised me by saying that I can take one shirt of my choice from my store as a birthday gift. I trusted him as my birthday was just a few days away. I was so happy and took one nice shirt. But when I was about to leave after the day's work, my store manager told me it was just an April Fools' Day prank. It left me dejected and angry at the same time. However, he kept the shirt and presented me on my birthday. It was a pleasant surprise" - Sarah from New Delhi.
