Dave Grohl has revealed Kurt Cobain's reaction when he first heard the early Foo Fighters demo tapes.

Grohl and the late Cobain played together in Nirvana, which is considered to be one of the seminal bands in the 90's that introduced then a new genre of music called grunge. Catering mainly to the younger crowd, grunge music is an eclectic mix of hard rock, heavy metal and punk music.

When Nirvana broke into the mainstream scene in 1992 for their iconic record "Nevermind", the band's drummer Dave Grohl began recording songs of his own. As Grohl explained in previous episodes of his HBO documentary entitled "Sonic Highways," the rainy weather of Seattle, where they were all residing at during the time, forced most of his peers to lock themselves in the basement and play music.

Back then, Grohl had released two singles: "Alone + Easy Target," which was eventually included in the Foo Fighter's self-titled debut album in 1995, and another unreleased track entitled "Hooker On The Street."

In a report by Consequence of Sound, Grohl revealed Kurt Cobain's reaction upon hearing these two tracks during the latest episode of Sonic Highways, which featured the Seattle music scene.

According to Grohl, Cobain's reaction was no less than a warm, loving one.

"Kurt heard that, and kissed me on the face, as he was in a bath," the Foo Fighters frontman explained. "He was so excited. He was like, 'I heard you recorded some stuff with Barrett [Jones].' I was like, 'Yeah.' He was like, 'Let me hear it.' I was too afraid to be in the same room as he listened to it."

Unfortunately, Cobain was not able to witness the eventual rise and success of the Foo Fighters. The enigmatic lead singer of Nirvana died of an apparent suicide in April 5th, 1994, leaving his then wife Courtney Love, daughter Frances Bean, and his legions of supporters distraught and heartbroken.

Meanwhile, the Foo Fighters continue with their rise to further rock and roll stardom. In a report by The Mirror, the band has booked the Slane Castle in County Meath in Ireland as part of their big stadium tours their 20th anniversary in 2015.

The band will also be at the Old Trafford in Manchester, the Stadium of Light in Sunderland, and the Wembley Stadium, before closing the tour at Murrayfield in Edinburgh.
