An important character will not be featured in "Batman V Superman: The Dawn of Justice," International Business Times reported.

Gotham Police Department's Commissioner James Gordon will reportedly not appear in the upcoming film. Writer Devin Faraci has revealed some alleged spoilers of the new movie.

"In this continuity James Gordon has, at some point in the past, bitten the dust. How and at whose hands I cannot tell you -- all that's noted in the script is that there's a memorial plaque to James Gordon. This explains why the role wasn't cast for the film, at least," Faraci wrote, according to Christian Post

The report speculates that Gordon has already been killed by the Joker in the film. Rumors also surfaced that Joker is indeed present in the movie and Superman is aware of him.

Meanwhile, Batman has allegedly operated in Gotham for 17 years in the film. This means that a number of stories are not yet uncovered and could be presented in sequels.

Aside from character rumors, there will also be several fight scenes including a major battle in Gotham.  Superman will be looking for Batman in a climactic fight scene, according to Bad Ass Digest.

The speculations have not been confirmed yet but the main cast has been announced. Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman while Ben Affleck will play Batman. Amy Adams will return as Lois Lane and Gal Gadot will be Wonder Woman.

In addition, Alfred will be played by Jeremy Irons and Lex Luthor will be portrayed by Jesse Eisenberg. Academy award winner Holly Hunter will be in the film for a new role.

On Wednesday, the movie cast ended their one-month shoot at Taos Ski Valley, New Mexico. The production reportedly spent $13 million for constructing props, catering services and hiring crew members, ABQ Journal reported.

"Batman V Superman: The Dawn of Justice" will hit theatres on March 25, 2016.
