The Los Angeles Clippers are reportedly determined to make some moves both on the free-agency market and trading fronts. According to sources close to situation, the Clips are still hopeful of signing veteran shooter Ray Allen while trading for Lance Stephenson of the Charlotte Hornets.

Tying to add some punch to their current lineup, the Clippers are expected to burn the hotlines in the coming weeks as the NBA trade period officially began on Sunday.

Allen, who is career 40 percent shooter from the three-point line, is reportedly scheduled to meet his suitors in January and come out from his mini hiatus just around All-Star break in February.

Sources indicated the Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, Washington Wizards and the San Antonio Spurs emerge as front runner for Allen's service.

"The Clippers could shake up their second unit by adding veteran free agent Ray Allen. Allen, who played for the Miami Heat last season, hasn't officially retired. A report Saturday had him considering joining five teams - none of which was the Clippers."

However, Clippers head coach Doc Rivers has remained optimistic about his chance of acquiring Allen, who he coached during their time with the Boston Celtics.

"I think in two or three weeks, he'll start thinking about teams. I don't think right know he is. I think he wants to get through the holidays," he said of Allen's process. "I think he's doing the right thing, honestly. He's earned this right, to look at the teams and say, 'I fit here,' and jump if he wants to do that," Orange County Register reported.

Moreover, the Clippers are also one of three teams (Brooklyn Nets and Indiana Pacers) that already made an inquiry for the availability of Stephenson, who mightily struggled with the Hornets after signing a three-year, $27million deal.

The Clippers have been searching for a dynamic swingman that would complement Chris Paul and Blake Griffin in their already loaded lineup. Analysts think Stephenson is a great fit for the Clippers because of his defensive ability.
