James Woods - Actor James Woods took to Twitter to attack and blame Al Sharpton for being directly responsible for the assassination of two New York City police officers on Saturday.
The 67-year-old Hollywood veteran and political conservative directed harsh accusations at activist Rev. Al Sharpton, New York Mayor Bill de Blasico and the Obama administration after a three months absence from Twitter.
"This disgusting pig is DIRECTLY responsible for the murder of two good policemen. No discussion," James Wood tweeted on Sunday. His tweet included a photo of Al Sharpton at a protest against the police's involvement in the death of Eric Garner.
The Oscar award winner's comment was in reference to the killing if two NYPD officers, Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu. The officers were gunned down in their patrol car parked in Bedford-Stuyvesant. The shooter, who later took his own life, has been identified as Ismaaiyl Brinsley.
In his Twitter assault on Al Sharpton, James Woods described the preacher and TV pundit as a pig and race hustler. He also posted a tweet with a picture of the 60-year-old Al Sharpton face splattered with blood, with a caption that reads "What do we want, Dead Cops. When Do we want it, Right Now."
James Wood's Twitter rants included hashtags #Pig Sharpton,'#RaceHuskters,'#TurnYourBack,'#BlueLivesMatter"
Meanwhile, James Wood's rant got his friend and colleague Alec Baldwin to comment on his harsh criticisms. Baldwin, who is a known left-wing actor, took to Twitter to express his shock at his long time friend's statements on Twitter.
"I am slightly shocked to see some of the otherwise informed people who would politicize the deaths of police officers."
To which James Woods replied "I hear that my long time friend @AlecBaldwin had said some things. I've chosen not to read them because I like and want to keep it thus."
Reports indicate that although Al Sharpton has not directly responded to James Wood's accusations he said on Sunday that he does not believe in violence and an "eye for an eye."
"We are now under intense threat from those who are misguided - from those who are trying to blame everyone from civil rights leaders to the mayor rather than deal with an ugly spirit that all of us need to fight," Sharpton said.
