Wheel of Fortune Puzzle Solved With One Letter - Viewers of CBS's syndicated game show on Friday, Dec. 26th could hardly believe their eyes after watching a contestant win up to $90,000 on the famous game show with multiple accurate guesses.
"The wheel definitely worked in my favor," he said. "I was extremely fortunate."
Matt DeSanto's record shattering run on the Wheels of Fortune started after he solved a puzzle in the 'Character' category for $2,000. Assistant host Vanna White had flipped a tile to reveal the letter 'E' on the board, DeSanto sprung to action and correctly guessed 'THE LONE RANGER.'
His lucky call impressed Sajak who joked saying, "I don't want to cause trouble at home, but I think there's a connection with you and Vanna."
While DeSanto's luck would have been impressive should his headline-grabbing experience have ended at this point - it didn't. DeSanto went on to win about $91,892 on the night.
DeSanto's Wheel of Fortune one letter guess has gone viral on the internet and made the headlines. The father of two has already become somewhat of a celebrity after his money-grabbing run. He told Today that he didn't really do anything special to prepare for his appearance on the show that night besides completing some "extra crossword puzzles."
People have reported that a spokeswoman for the show confirmed that DeSanto's lucky run chalked a record as he had the biggest win a contestant has ever had going into the final round. But DeSanto is not the highest winner ever on the game show.
DeSanto lost in the final round after failing to correctly guess a letter. He admits that he was feeling a little tired when he got to this part of the challenge.
DeSanto's Wheel of Fortune one letter guess is definitely a stunner. But if you feel you've got more luck than DeSanto, head over to the Wheels of Fortune website and drop an application.
