The third round of the FA Cup is underway, as English football powerhouses pitted against up-and-coming ball clubs in a tournament that produced a number of dramatic upsets and unforgettable performances.
Manchester United vs. Yeovil Town
Man United, the hottest team in the English Premier League, will try to sustain their winning form as they take on a League One team that hasn't been in sync since beating Accrington in their second-round replay.
It's without a doubt the Red Devils will come into the field as the overwhelming favorite. However, manager Louis Van Gaal still believed it's going to be an all or nothing match for his guys, knowing that their opponents are out to make it a dogfight battle.
"It is death or the gladioli. Regardless of its origins, in layman's terms the phrase means one thing - "all or nothing," Van Gaal told the press. "You are dead or you receive the gladiolus flower. In cup matches it's always like that."
Van Gaal admitted the 4-0 beating they received to MK Dons in the first round of the Capital One Cup taught him a very hard lesson not to underestimate teams regardless of the level they are playing in.
"We know from our early exit in the Capital One Cup that league places mean nothing in the cups. We will be prepared," Van Gaal said. "We have learned from the Milton Keynes game. They are also in League One."
As for the Glovers head coach Gary Johnson, he thinks his players need to win first the tendency of being awestruck with some of the best players in the world for them to have a chance in pulling off an upset at Huish Park.
"Being starstruck by Manchester United is a concern and you can't stop human nature," the Yeovil manager told the Western Gazette via ESPN FC.
Yeovil Town vs. Manchester United game will start at 10:30 US EST, simultaneously with other interesting FA Cup games: Chelsea vs. Watford, Manchester City vs. Sheffield Wednesday, and Arsenal vs Hull City.
