Marvel's Agent Carter is a series that features the mysterious past of Marvel Comics character Peggy Carter. Actress Hayley Atwell, who played the role in a series of films, will be reprising it for the small screen. Per usual, Peggy will be struggling to balance both her administrative and undercover work for Howard Stark and her life as a single bachelorette in the 1940s. Interestingly, viewers will get to see familiar elements and characters in the series as Marvel already confirmed that several actors from the Marvel Cinematic Universe films are bound to make appearances in the freshman show. ABC's press release for the show states that the series will depict the events that took place before Phil Coulson managed to lead his S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. Hence, it will focus on the secret crime-fighting role of Peggy during her stay at the Strategic Scientific Reserve. As she continues to work on a secret mission, she unveils dark secrets that will ultimately change her life and the world. Agent Carter stars Attwell, James D'Arcy, Chad Michael Murray, Enver Gjokaj and Dominic Cooper, among others. The official synopsis of the 2-part premiere special of Agent Carter reads: "When old acquaintance Howard Stark finds himself being framed for unleashing his deadliest weapons to anyone willing to pony up the cash, he contacts Peggy - the only person he can trust - to track down those responsible, dispose of the weapons and clear his name."
