Malia Obama Weighs Down College Choices: Will First Daughter Surprise President Obama With Her School Choice?

Malia Obama is now prepping up for college, along with several teens all over the United States. The 16-year-old US first daughter has reportedly been weighing down her college choices and on top of her list are Berkeley and Stanford. So, which school will Malia attend?
US President Barack Obama has shared that daughter Malia, now in the middle of her junior year and is choosing what college to attend, wanted to become a filmmaker. Western Journalism reported that the president said while his daughter toured both campuses last summer, she also worked on the sci-fi television series "Extant" that starred Halle Berry and produced by Steven Spielberg, as a production assistant.
In the fall of 2016, Malia Obama will be heading off to college. She is predicted to attend two Northern California rival institutes, the University of California-Berkeley and Stanford University. While Stanford is a private university in Palo Alto and is more conservative, Valdosta Daily Times reported that Berkeley is California's top public and liberal university.
Since Malia Obama wanted filmmaking, she might be choosing from the flagship colleges of the nation, Berkeley and Stanford. Berkeley is known as a liberal district and has an internationally recognized film and media department while Stanford also offers remarkable major and minor film and media courses and have famous graduates as well, Chelsea Clinton and Sandra O'Connor, Web Pro News reported.
As President Obama and US First Lady Michelle Obama are both Harvard-educated barristers with Ivy League undergrad degrees (Columbia and Princeton, respectively), expectations for daughter Malia Obama are undoubtedly high.
"Given the educational attainment of her parents, which is exceptional in itself, I can only assume she is going to be a bright and well-qualified student," said David Hawkins, an official at the Arlington's National Association for College Admission Counseling official David Hawkins said.
Wherever college Malia Obama chooses to attend, America's first daughter is likely ready. According to Inquisitr, Malia's mother, Michelle said in a speech last month that teens today are already primed for college since the beginning of high school.
"Honestly, when Barack and I talk about this, we look at the college counseling many of the kids are getting today and we wonder how we ever managed to get ourselves into college," the first lady stated.
If Malia Obama chooses Berkeley, which is considered as the most liberal college and city as shown in a study published by Business Insider, it would likely become more interesting for the first family's critics as Malia was often a target for backlashes.
Malia Obama may not have selected a college yet but she already knows what to do and whichever school she may attend, she'll definitely become a successful filmmaker in the future.
