Paris Jackson's mother Debbie Rowe has finally ditched her custody fight against the Jackson family after almost a year. Rowe announced last April that she would pursue a guardianship application to get the custody of her daughter from Katherine Jackson, the matriarch of the Jackson clan.

Debbie Rowe, who is the mother of Michael Jackson's only daughter, Paris, and son Prince, has fought to have the custody of her daughter from the Jackson family. But now, it seems that the 56-year-old mother has given up the fight. According to Radar Online, Rowe's announcement for custody battle came a year after Paris tried to take her own life that resulted to the 16-year-old teen spending months in the hospital while undergoing therapy.

But what changed Debbie Rowe's mind to give up the custody fight for her daughter? According to Bunte, a Jackson family insider said that Rowe just wanted guardianship because she was worried of her daughter's health.

"The only reason that Debbie wanted to get custody in the first place was because, as a mom, Debbie was so concerned about Paris's health that she wanted to do anything that she could to help," the source said as quoted by In Touch. "But because Paris is doing so well now and she is getting along so great with Katherine, Debbie is no longer pursuing getting custody of her."

Paris Jackson and her siblings, 17-year-old Prince and 12-year-old Blanket are under court-ordered guardianship of their 84-year-old grandmother Katherine and 36-year-old cousin T.J. Jackson.

Meanwhile, Paris has a good relationship with her mother, Debbie Rowe. However, a source said that Paris does not trust her mom's longtime fiancé, Marc Schaffel, who was named as a co-conspirator in the Michael Jackson child molestation indictment.

Debbie Rowe's decision of dropping the custody fight came after Paris Jackson returned home from Utah, where her boarding school was located, to spend the holidays with her siblings. Eurweb.com reported Michael Jackson's children spent the holidays in the Bahamas. And since grandmother Katherine does not observe the holidays for religious reason, the children's holiday celebration was low key.

Paris Jackson, along with brothers Prince and Blanket, flew to Bahamas' Atlantis Paradise Island with co-guardian T.J. Jackson. The family has returned Tuesday to Los Angeles and Paris will return to her Utah boarding school right after the holidays. After Debbie Rowe's dropped the custody battle, has the family finally reconciled?
