John Legend's wife Chrissy Teigen has made the headlines today after the internet world capitalized on her awkward facial expression when her husband won a Golden Globes award last night.
John Legend and rapper Common won the Best Original Song Golden Globes award for their track 'Glory', which was used as a soundtrack for the highly rated movie Selma.
When John Legend went up the stage to collect his award, the cameras caught a close-up shot of Chrissy Teigen, in which she looked as though she was at the brink of tears, but somehow smiling - what an emotional cocktail, huh?
It didn't take long for the social media pundits to take on the subject of Chrissy Teigen's cry face. Several fans poked fun at the look on the face of the 29-year-old model.
"Is it bad that I can look at @chrissyteigen's cry face and still say #lifegoals? No? Great. #GoldenGlobes," Jenna Amatulli wrote on Twitter.
Another Twitter user identified as Tyra Banksy posted the Chrissy Teigen cry face picture along with the following text: "When your mom makes you cry & then says "fix your face" in public @chrissyteigen #goldenglobes"
Chrissy Teigen wasn't going to take these sharp-tongued jabs without responding. She later took to Twitter to say "Sorry I don't practice my cry face okay."
"It's been 5 minutes and I'm a meme," she later tweeted.
To diffuse the Chrissy Teigen cry face situation even more, she later posted a photo of herself and hubby John Legend making cry faces on Instagram. The two, who have been married for barely 5 months, have been together since 2011.
