Looks like someone has lady luck on their side when famous band Maroon 5 showed up on their wedding parties. But wait, did the band crash the wedding for real? Are they invited?
Do wedding crashers usually get the warmest of welcomes? Well, I don't think so. But when you have Adam Levine and the Maroon 5 crashing at your wedding reception having an impromptu performance, surely you'll be ecstatic!
In Maroon 5's latest video, "Sugar," Adam Levine and the gang went on a Los Angeles tour to crash weddings. According to MTV, the band's wedding tour was to film the video that was directed by "Wedding Crashers" director David Dobkin.
Maroon 5's latest video was shot in a single day last December where lead singer Adam Levine and his band made a series of surprise impromptu performances at several weddings throughout LA. The Daily Mail revealed the video debuted on You Tube on Tuesday.
It seems that Adam Levine and Maroon 5 members have bested Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson as they become the real-life wedding crashers in town. In an interview with Access Hollywood last month, Levine shared his experiences about remaking the concept of the original "Wedding Crashers."
"David Dobkin, who is an awesome director and a really dear, dear friend, decided to revisit the concept of obviously the original 'Wedding Crashers,'" Levine said as quoted by The Huffington Post. "The only difference being we actually crashed weddings this time! [We] literally showed up and played songs for these guys. They were surprised."
In an interview with ET Online, Adam Levine also shared that the shock and awe from the wedding receptions seemed so sincere but added that it would have been a "total disaster" if they did not like the band.
"It was a lot of fun. It felt good to kind of surprise these people and make them happy," Maroon 5's lead singer said. "Happy that they liked our band too. It would have been a total disaster [if not]."
A rep for Duke Photography, which photographed the wedding also said that it was an unbelievable surprise, E! News reported.
"It was an incredible surprise and everyone at the wedding is going to cherish those memories," the rep said.
"Sugar" is Maroon 5's third single from their fifth studio album "V" that also features other singles "Maps" and "Animals," which features Levine's wife Behati Prinsloo. Levine also shared his sentiments about the "Sugar" video.
"It was an out of body experience," he said. "I had no idea I would be affected by the overwhelming reactions we received from the couples and guests. Being able to create an unforgettable experience for several people was the highlight of it all."
So what do you think? Is Maroon 5's "Sugar" video scripted or not?
