Screen Actors Guild Awards 2015 - Jan. 25, 2015 is not just a night for parading beautiful ladies from around the world with the "Miss Universe" coronation night, it is also a sensational evening for celebrities to grace the red carpet of the 21st Annual SAG Awards.
The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards 2015 will be held at the Shrine Auditorium tonight in Los Angeles. Over 35 celebrities are expected to take the stage as presenters of the no-host show. Among them are Patricia Arquette, Adrien Brody, Kevin Costner, Benedict Cumberbatch, Matthew McConaughey, Julia Roberts, Emma Stone and Reese Witherspoon, Just Jared revealed.
The SAG Awards 2015 will kick off with a red-carpet pre-show at 6 p.m. ET that will be available on online streaming through the SAG Awards official Web site and with People.com. E! News will also be featuring a "Live from the Red Carpet" segment as Maria Menounos, Kelly Osbourne and Ross Matthews will be interviewing the celebrities.
Aside from the fashion, the winners and the snubs, Latin Times shared that award season enthusiasts can expect to see award-winning actress Debbie Reynolds as she receives the 2015 Lifetime achievement award.
Though SAG Awards 2015 lacks the glamour of the Academy Awards, it has been dubbed as its predecessor. According to E! News, celebrities that get the SAG are more likely to win the Oscars.
"In three of the past four years, all four actors who won SAG Awards went on to win Oscars," the entertainment news site said.
Meanwhile, for predictions of possible winners, The Washington Post said "Birdman" or "Boyhood" might take an award as they both lead the movies with most number of nominations. For television shows, HBO might still dominate with nominations for "Game of Thrones," "True Detectives," "The Normal Heart" and "Boardwalk Empire."
For the actors, Variety predicts "Whiplash" star J.K. Simmons might win the supporting role for an actor while for an actress, Patricia Arquette might get a SAG Award for her performance in "Boyhood." For the Lead Role for an actor and actress, Michael Keaton for "Birdman" and Julianne Moore in "Still Alice" are among the loudest contenders to vie for the SAG Awards 2015.
The two-hour Screen Actors Guild Awards 2015 show will be broadcast live tonight, Jan. 25, Sunday on TNT and TBS at 8 p.m. ET.
