Pizza Delivery - An Oswego policeman was forced to deliver a large package of pizza after arresting the pizza delivery guy on drug charges last week.

According to the Oswego Police, the pizza delivery guy was arrested sometime after 8:00 p.m. on Sun. Jan. 25, near Chicago and Garfield Street after he escaped a red light by driving through a parking lot.

Reports indicate that when officers approached the vehicle after initially stopping it, they realized that the driver, 19-year-old Nicholas Parello, and his passenger, Dakota Albright, who is also 19 years old, were in possession of drug paraphernalia. The police then took both men into custody.

After realizing that the suspect was on his way to deliver pizza, one officer reportedly volunteered to take the package to the customer, whose address was on the receipt. The Oswego Police has said on Facebook that the customer was "confused," but accepted the pizza and was "glad" that the police weren't there for another reason.

It is quite rare for a cop to deliver pizza indeed. Oswego Police Chief Jeff Burgner said this is the first time such a thing has happened. "We try to do all we can to help our residents, but I think this is the first time we've delivered a pizza," he said.

The news of the police pizza delivery incident has since gone viral and inspired many witty jokes. The officer who actually made the delivery has not been identified.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that the two suspects arrested - Parello and Albright - have both been released after posting bail. It is unclear if the management of the pizza house has taken any disciplinary actions against the delivery guy. It is also unclear if his passenger was also a worker at the pizza house.
