George R.R. Martin answered rumors circulating that "The Winds of Winter" will not be released this year by saying that it will not be scheduled unless it is completed, iDigital Times reported.
Martin's message was posted as a comment on his LiveJournal. The comment is related to Harper Collins' Jane Johnson answer to fans that "Winds of Winter" is not scheduled for publishing this year. Johnson's tweet was immediately misinterpreted by readers that the book will not be published this year at all, Inquisitr reported.
Johnson was also interviewed by the Guardian and she confirmed that there is no information on "likely delivery" of the book. The publisher explained that Martin's books actually take a long time to write. Fans should be grateful about the process in writing these kinds of novels since one book is equivalent to 2 or 3 novels from other authors, according to The Wall Street Journal.
As a result, fans informed Martin about the news. Martin was also notified by his loyal followers that they are aware that the author does not want his book to be scheduled and only few people really know the progress of "The Winds of Winter."
On Martin's LiveJournal, the author stated that he hopes that "The Winds of Winter" is not actually scheduled on "ANY of his publishers." The author revealed that he has insisted for several years that the novel should not be scheduled unless they are complete and ready for delivery.
The whole process of postponing and rescheduling makes the fans angry, therefore, he prefers that there will be no schedule posted until the date is finalized. Martin added that his viewpoints is against "publishing practice" so he may not achieve the results he desired. The author also mentioned to check on his LiveJournal posts for future announcements.
Martin has promised back in December that the announcement of the release of "The Winds of Winter" will be straightforward without any frills. The novel will be released when it is done and he will reveal it by the time he is finished writing.
The author has already sold 25 million books across the globe and is hailed as one of "Time" magazine's most influential people in 2014.
