Mel Gibson Car Crash - A woman, whose car was damaged by Mel Gibson in an accident near the actor's home in Malibu recently, is allegedly seeking to extort the Hollywood veteran of more money and possible a brand new vehicle.
According to TMZ, on a good evening a few weeks ago, Gibson crashed into an unidentified woman's 13-year-old car. At the time she was not in the vehicle. Reports indicate that the crash was so severe that Gibson had to contact a friend to extricate him from his vehicle. It is unclear what led to the accident, but alcohol has been ruled out.
Gibson reportedly left a note and his contact details, as well as that of his insurance company on the wrecked car so that its owner would be able to get in touch. When the unidentified woman got in touch, reports indicate that Gibson's insurance company provided her with a rental car, while they had her car repaired.
Nonetheless, the victim is reportedly harassing Gibson with text messages and phone calls - demanding more money and a brand new car. Gibson has threatened to sue the woman for harassment, and she has reportedly also threatened to counter his lawsuit.
It is unclear if the woman's car can be repaired and returned to her at the moment. Also, since traffic authorities were not involved in the incident, therefore it is impossible to determine who was at fault in the crash.
The last time Gibson was involved in a car crash - in 2011 when his 2008 Maserati crashed into a rocky hillside - traffic officials revealed that the driver was not directly at fault and that the accident could have happened to anybody.
