"Sleepy Hollow" Season 2 Episode 17 will be airing tonight at 9 p.m. EST on FOX. The last two episodes of the season will be a crucial for the show since it wasn't renewed yet. Though "Sleepy Hollow" has a good fan base, the odds may still be not in favor for another season.
Last week, the discovery of the secret tunnel gave an added twist to the Thomas Jefferson encounter during Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) and Abbie Mills' (Nicole Beharie) quest in fighting evil. But on the "Sleepy Hollow" Season 2 Episode 17 titled, "Awakening," a powerful witch coven will be resurrected while Katrina Crane (Katia Winter) will be now joining the dark side.
"Ichabod and Abbie will fight against those who want to re-awaken a powerful witch coven and Jenny is going to learn a disturbing truth about Frank Irving," the official synopsis of the episode reads, Hypable quoted.
As the finale of the "Sleepy Hollow" looms, it's season 2 episode 17 gets quite intriguingly intense. According to Hollywood Hills, Jenny Mills (Lyndie Greenwood) will warn Ichabod and Abbie that Frank Irving (Orlando Jones) is about to do something evil, so they will come up with a drastic solution.
Meanwhile, Henry Parrish also known as Jeremy Crane of the Horseman of War (John Noble) will return in the "Sleepy Hollow" Season 2 Episode 17. He will also switch to the evil side. As CarterMatt teased, the scene where Noble will be reading the spell book will give a slightly different turn. And the curse of the Liberty Bell, which the sound turns people to do evil and terrible things, will be Ichabod's dilemma.
Ichabod's wife, Katrina could also be switching sides, TV Guide revealed. But actress Katia Winter said in an interview that "evil doesn't necessarily mean evil" while hinting about Ichabod's reaction as she align herself with Henry, which will be another betrayal.
"Evil doesn't necessarily have to mean evil in Katrina's eyes. It's the reasoning behind it and taking a stand for something," Winter said. "[Ichabod] feels betrayed and has been betrayed by Katrina many times. But it's her point of view. She doesn't see it that way. She's frustrated because nobody seems to understand that she did all those things for the greater good, for the bigger picture... but it's a betrayal on both sides."
While the show has not been renewed for its third season, the "Sleepy Hollow" Season 2 Episode 17 will surely stage an epic finale with some shocking cliffhangers. As Ichabod and Abbie fight a new slew of netherworlds evils, loyalties and friendships will be tested.
