Zayn Malik Net Worth - Amid the reports of Zayn Malik's departure from the popular English boyband One Direction, Niall, Liam, Harry and Louis will continue as a four-piece act.
Zayn Malik, who has an estimated net worth range of $20 million to $23 million, decided to quit the chart-topping boy band five years after they were formed by Simon Cowell in 2010. Malik's decision came just days after he bowed out in the Asian leg of the band's "On the Road" tour, as Jobs & Hire previously reported.
Following the reports of Zayn Malik's 1D departure, his net worth value is now under scrutiny. Along with band mates Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson, the group is officially the richest boy band in the music history, Daily Mail revealed.
In 2010, British pop boy band One Direction propelled to international success after signing with Cowell's record label, Syco Records. The band recorded four albums that broke records, topped charts and generated hit singles. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Zayn Malik and the rest of band has a combined net fortune of $100 million. Forbes also listed them as the second-highest earning celebs under 30.
Meanwhile, One Direction fans worldwide are mourning Malik's official departure from the band. Though Zayn Malik's 1D experience has been great and even earned him over $20 million net worth, he finally decided to live out of the spotlight. After announcing his decision, he also apologized to his fans.
"My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined," Malik's statement said, BBC News quoted. "But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I'd like to apologize to the fans if I've let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right."
"I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22 year old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight," he added. "I know I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world."
Last week, Zayn Malik made headlines after he walked away from the band's world tour because of stress. He returned to the UK shortly after being forced to defend his relationship with his fiancée, Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards. His decision came after a photo of him getting intimate with a random fan in Thailand.
In a statement, the rest of the band also expressed how they felt about Malik's departure.
"We're really sad to see Zayn go, but we totally respect his decision and send him all our love for the future," they stated. "The past five years have been beyond amazing - we've gone through so much together, so we will always be friends."
"The four of us will now continue," the band continued. "We're looking forward to recording the new album and seeing all the fans on the next stage of the world tour."
The rest of the band will record their fifth album in Zayn's absence and will continue with the remaining dates on the band's forthcoming world tour. Meanwhile, Zayn Malik's fortune is listed by Celebrity Net Worth as $23 million.
