Jarec Wentworth is a 25-year-old gay porn star who is currently facing extortion charges. Wentworth, known as Teofil Brank in real life, was arrested by the FBI in Los Angeles on March 4.
Brank, popularly known by his stage name Jarec Wentworth, allegedly blackmailed a rich California man. According to the authorities, he threatened to reveal the details of his victim's personal life for $500,000. Daily Mail reported that investigators said Wentworth also attempted to exact the ownership of a condo and $1 million in cash his victim, who was identified as D.B.
"I'm going to bite hard," Wentworth allegedly said in a threatening text message sent to D.B. on Feb. 16, New York Daily Mail revealed. "I want a new car, motorcycle and both hands full of cash."
If Jarec Wentworth's victim did not meet his demands, he vowed to release photos and other humiliating details of the man's rendezvous via his social media account, Twitter. Prosecutors said Wentworth published a damaging comment online about the unidentified man, then deleted it.
And because D.B. was afraid of Wentworth's villainous blackmail scheme, he gave him the money and handed over his Audi sports car. And while he thought it'll be over, Wentworth's demands continued. Thus, the victim contacted his lawyer.
The FBI was then informed and a sting operation was set up by the agency at El Segundo coffee shop. As written in the court documents, an undercover agent handed Jarec Wentworth the title to the Audi R8 and promised that the $1 million cash was in its trunk.
When Jarec Wentworth left the coffee shop with the document, he was seized by the FBI, who reportedly found a loaded revolver in his car. In a March 20 indictment, he was charged with felony extortion by threatening to injure someone's reputation, Los Angeles Times reported.
Meanwhile, Jarec Wentworth or Teofil Brank appeared in a bail review hearing Thursday. But a judge denied the bail, considering him a flight risk, as said by CBS Los Angeles. However, Wentworth's attorneys appealed the decision. If convicted, Wentworth will face an imprisonment sentence of up to two years.
