Amazon.com, Inc. announced the release of its Cloud Player App for iPhone and iPod touch. The product that is now available in the App Store allows synching between the two devices. Users can stream or download music within the Cloud Player to both their iPhone or iPod touch, can create and manage playlists, as well as play previously stored music.
"Customers tell us that they want access to all of their music, wherever they are, and on all of the devices they use," said Steve Boom, Vice President of Digital Music for Amazon. "By bringing Cloud Player to iPhone and iPod touch, we now have the most widely compatible cloud playback solution available, giving our customers the ability to buy once and enjoy their music everywhere."
This application helps customers to manage their music without having to download songs prior to playing them. Once music is uploaded from iTunes into Amazon's cloud storage, all music can be played in the app, even when offline. The app creates full access to digital music, as it can be played in the background while doing something else on an iPhone or in your house and car through use of Bluetooth.
Amazon customers are initially given 5GB of free storage to transfer their music library to Cloud Player. For a limited time, those who buy a storage plan will be given unlimited space for their digital music files for free. The storage plans start at an annual fee of $20 for 20 GB.
The Amazon Cloud Player app for iOS devices was previously released in November, but due to legal reasons the app was pulled.
The App is free on the iPhone App Store, on the iPod touch, and on the itunes appstore website.
