Floyd Mayweather VS Manny Pacquiao 2015 - With just two weeks before what is dubbed as the fight of the century, tickets for the bout have yet to go on sale.
The Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao fight on May 2, 2015 is considered as the biggest boxing match in the sport history. According to Quartz, tickets for the bout starts at $1,500, which aims to create a minimum return of more than $70 million. However, the tickets are still unavailable at this time.
"It was supposed to be three weeks ago, then two weeks, then this week, and my gut feeling is that they won't have that public sale," Chris Matcovich, a spokesman for TiqIQ, a ticket aggregator told Bloomberg.
As the highly-anticipated boxing match in history approaches, seats for its live audience remain unavailable. Moreover, there seems to be a big chance that the public won't be able to purchase any tickets to the Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao 2015 fight.
The majority of the tickets will be distributed by the Mayweather and Pacquiao camps, as well as MGM Grand. About 1,000 tickets were to be sold to the public, however, International Business Times reported it still remains unclear when that will happen.
In the event that there is no public sale, it will simply means all tickets were purchased and divided between the MGM Grand and the promoters. And those tickets will filter down to the fighters' camps, networks, celebrities, friends and brokers, while some would end up on the secondary market.
Bob Arum of Top Rank Promotions initially said that tickets were supposedly to go on sale the first week of April. He also added that it's not acceptable that the tickets haven't been put on sale yet. Mayweather Promotions Chief Executive Leonard Ellerbe, on the other hand, said that the sale of the Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao 2015 tickets would be this week. But there's been no further official announcement.
Meanwhile, the MGM Grand released a statement Friday, saying it is working on making the tickets of the Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao 2015 fight available to the public as soon as possible.
