DC Comics is already prepping the stage for another superhero who will be getting his own standalone movie/s. An "Aquaman" movie is said to be in the works and it is slated for a 2018 release.
Last week it was already revealed that the people behind the "Aquaman" standalone movie has tapped renowned director James Wan to helm the action-packed superhero flick.
Wan, who is currently in talks to direct Sony Pictures' "Robotech," is said to be the top choice in the list of directors who could possibly direct and do the film justice, Tech Times has learned.
Unfortunately, it seems that Wan will not have enough time to focus on "Aquaman" since he is also set to helm "The Conjuring 2." With this in mind, the DC Comics movie might need to wait a little longer because Wan will only be available in 2019.
Some insiders say this could be enough reason producers to look for a different person to direct the upcoming film.
Meanwhile, apart from getting his own flick, Aquaman is also rumored to be appearing in two other DC Comics films before his standalone movie hits theaters.
First, there's "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice," where Aquaman is destine to make an appearance alongside Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Flash and Robin, reports DenofGeek.
Additionally, Jason Momoa, the actor who is playing Aquaman in "Batman V Superman," is also said to be appearing in the remake of "The Magnificent Seven."
The former "Game of Thrones" actor is said to be one of the potential stars to grace the remake that will be helmed by Antoine Fuqua.
If Momoa will indeed get a role in the remake, he is a good addition to the ensemble cast composed of Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D'Onforio, Haley Bennet and Luke Grimes, according to International Business Times.
"The Magnificent Seven" is set to hit theaters on Jan. 13, 2017.
