Apple’s iOS 9 Public Beta Released — What To Expect
By Staff Reporter | Jul 13, 2015 06:10 AM EDT
Apple's iOS9 beta has been released to the public. Users may now download it on their iPhones and iPad. Apple also reminds users this is a beta version, which means bugs and errors are possible risks, and that this should just be installed on older devices for the meantime, and not on one's primary device, reported Financial Express.
The question that Apple users and fanboys are asking is, What can they expect from iOS 9? Design-wise, it looks identical to iOS 8, except for the bigger fonts. Moreover, 9to5Mac said that Apple has published a new support document that has the complete info on its plans to revamp the existing two-factor authentication system that it launched last year. What else is new?
Siri will boast proactive assistance instead of just spotlight search, providing users with more relevant information based on the context they put in. A new app resembling Flipboard will give users access to news.
Another new feature is that Apple Maps will now give users transport schedules and step-by-step guides of walking time and direction to subways, trains, bus stations and other means of transport, which would streamline traveling.
On the iPad, a new feature will allow you to work with two apps simultaneously. Similarly, a Picture-in-Picture option will let users watch a video even if they are using another app.
Sydney Morning Herald added that iOS 9 will have a low power mode. There is no need to turn off or disable other features or screen light just to do this. The new power mode will let users use their phones the way they intended them to be. To go on low power mode, it will handicap its processor. Of course, the catch is that one might do things a little slower. Other than the processor, it will also disable background app refreshing, animated wallpapers and mail fetching, which takes the biggest share in the battery life.
So what about you? What are your Apple iOS9 expectations?
