By Staff Reporter | Jul 14, 2015 06:00 AM EDT
The recent happenings at San Diego's Comic-con event didn't only showcase upcoming big movies, it all featured television shows. One of which was "Orphan Black."
A lot happened before, during and after the panel. There's Jordan Gavaris — who gave a controversial response when asked by Entertainment Weekly about his opinion on sexism, iO9 has learned.
There's also Maria Doyle Kennedy, who revealed that Tatiana Maslany's one big flaw was farting, according to Vulture.
During the panel, Maslany discussed about Krystal, the new clone character, Los Angeles Times reported.
Let's focus this discussion on the lead star. Have you ever wondered how she was like before she got herself into Hollywood?
If you do, the five must-know list about her is perfect for you.
1. The basics about Tatiana Maslany.
Her given name is Tatiana Gabrielle Maslany. She was born on Sept. 22, 1985 to a translator mother and a woodworker father.
Her birth place was in Regina, Saskatchewan in Canada.
She has a Ukrainian, Austrian, German, Romanian and Polish ancestry.
2. What's she like before she got into Hollywood?
In 2003, she graduated from Dr. Martin LeBoldus High school. She participated in school productions and was known as a respected student.
She joined in comedic improv for ten years and Canadian Improv Games.
3. Maslanay and her improv experience.
Canadian Improv Games has five events. It includes Life, Character, Style, Story and Theme. Volunteer judges, often accredited with theatre and improv experience, are watching and rating each scene in a given night.
Following the Improv Games, she became a member of the General Fools Improvisational Theatre.
Looks like Maslany really had good background before she went into acting for TV.
4. She and the "Orphan Black" characters.
Playing twins in a television series is really tough. How much more if you play multiple clones?
They are not just the average clones that you see in movies who simply sit and do nothing. These clones that Maslany play have names, personalities and they show emotions.
How many characters does she play? The live ones are four — Sarah, Helena, Alison and Cosima.
Sarah is a British mom, deemed to be the original subject, while Alison is a control freak American housewife.
Cosima is a gay scientist, who's been trying to resolve the clones' growing health problems which cause their deaths. And then there's Helena, who's believed to be Sarah's twin. She is Ukaranian with a killer instinct.
5. How much is she earning in "Orphan Black?"
Can you imagine how difficult that is — playing multiple characters, speaking in different accents?
No wonder why she's earning $50,000 per episode, according to IMDb.
There have been three seasons with approximately ten episodes each. Do the math and you'll figure out how much she earned since 2013 just for this series alone.
