In just a few days, "Ant-Man" is set to hit theaters and Paul Rudd is happy to share his journey to becoming one of Marvel's superhero.

According to SF Gate, "Ant-Man" is not your typical superhero film. Most superhero films typically involve "the greatest battle of all time" scenario and of course, it is not complete without "saving humanity."

Somehow, "Ant-Man" seems to appeal to people who are not onboard the superhero trend. Paul Rudd, known for his romantic comedy roles, has an established following that generally likes different movie genres and it seems that Marvel is counting on that.

National Post reported that Paul Rudd made sure that the script is perfect. He is actually one of the writers that joined Adam McKay in perfecting the film's script. Rudd said that he playing the role of "Ant-Man" and at the same time helping to write the script for the film is a great challenge, and he thought of it as an "exciting adventure."

Rudd also said that he enjoyed the way most people reacted to the news that he was cast as "Ant-Man" because there are those who wouldn't believe it.

The actor admitted that he didn't really know the character that he's going to play, and to make up for it, he read the comics, did some research and really tried internalizing the role to get into the right mindset.

And since he's a superhero, he needs to look the part. Rudd said that the strict workout regimen gave him some sense of accomplishment and boosted his self-confidence, especially during photo shoots.

E! News reported that the 46-year-old actor admitted his kids don't watched most of his movies. This is probably because most of his films are not age-appropriate. "Ant-Man" is possibly the first film his kids are going to watch.
